When installing Windows for the first time, you should have been prompted to enter an Owner Name and Organization or a Company name. Normally there’s never a need to change these settings. But what if we can change it? Isn't it wonderful to change the name of the person that Windows is registered to? If yes, then go through this cool tip. Just take a look:
Read our step by step Guide on how to change it
Change registered owner in Windows
- Open the Registry Editor by using regedit.exe through the start menu search box, and then locate the following registry key:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
- Or, simply search for registry name 'RegisteredOwner' (without quotes) from Edit > Find.
Now you can find the RegisteredOwner keys in the right-hand pane. Modify them to whatever values you want.
To check out the new changes, just type winver.exe into the start menu search box & you will get the 'About Windows' box. Bingo!!!
I know it’s not all that useful, but it might be useful to you if you got a computer from somebody else. Hope you like it!
