Default Command Prompt disappears - help install FSX

I am trying to install FSX again after refreshing windows 8. This explains how:-

    Microsoft Community

But I am stuck. I created C:\MicrosoftKB928080 & when I double-click "resetsldl.exe" the Command Prompt window flashes & disappears, cannot proceed.

I did manage it once long ago but cannot repeat it now.

I seem to remember I needed to open the Command Prompt in Administrator status.

I found Command Prompt in w8 Start but it opens as plain "Command Prompt".

Can anybody help to install FSX again? ....thanx ....nick

Go to the command prompt in Apps. Right click on command prompt (cmd) there and click on "Open File Location". There you right click on cmd and go to Properties. In Properties go to the Advanced tab. Check the little box "Run as Administrator. Then OK > Apply (important) > OK.

And whilst you are there, right click again on cmd and pin cmd to Start or the taskbar. Then run it from there. It will now always run in Admin (elevated) mode.
