Microsoft Edge is the way to go now. It consumes a lot less CPU almost 60-80% less. You also have access to Chrome Extensions. The only difference will be that you will have to sign-in using Microsoft Account instead of Chrome.
I've used Edge for several months and really like it. The "plus" is when it comes to it's tracking prevention setting. Set it to "Strict" and it blocks most ads that Chrome doesn't. The "minus" with Edge is it's "Favorites" drop-down list. Due to excessive spacing my well-organized list goes way down past the bottom of my 25" monitor's screen! It's obviously made for use on touch screens but a real pain for others. Several years ago, Chrome changed to similar wide bookmark spacing but somebody published a "fix" for it. There are many irate Edge users waiting for a similar fix.
