Default Cannot delete file on computer running Windows Vista Ultimate

I have only one user account on a fairly new computer running Windows Vista Ultimate (64) with all available updates.

When I try to delete a file that remains after I have uninstalled a program using the control panel I get a message that reads "You need permission to perform this action".

As the only user on this computer I should have permission to perform any action.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Default

Reboot in safe mode and try to delete it.

Else try Unlocker as suggested above or Delete Doctor to lock and delete this file on reboot.

You cannot delete a file or a folder on an NTFS file system volume may also interest you, for general reading.

    Default Thank you

Thanks for the quick replies. I tried unlocker and it worked like a charm. I really appreciate your help.
