    Default auto defrag keeps me up at night

    yes, how should i address this? it turns on comp late at night and early morning..defraggin' it. should i remove it and install again? i have set a schedule through windows task manager.

    Are you sure it is defrag. I assume the hard drive access noise is what keeps you awake?

    Is there anything else set to run at night.

    no i checked task manager, that thing is running every hour lol. i assume thats wearing down on the drive

    why don't you just set a different time

    i think the "auto" option is what i cannot change. ill try set at diff time but i dunno

    ok ive reset it along with other programs ive setup to run..now we wait and see if comp would turn on at odd hours.

    I've just re-looked at this 12:00pm is mid-day! as 12:00am is midnight! so what is the problem unless the people who wrote the programme don't understand the difference

    I used to use smart defrag but I cannot remember, does it have a feature that defrags when the system is idle?

    Try turning that off is it does.

    in windows task scheduler i see that it does have that option..ive got spysweeper, anti virus, defrag and 1-2 more others scheduled to run at different intervals.

    Not in task scheduler, open smart defrag and look in the program options there shoulod be a way to disable defrag when the system is idle.

    woo thx bro i saw that i did set defrag thing to run at 12am. ive edited that schedule and turned it off so that task scheduler can take over.
