    Default Vista windows views

I've noticed that the way that icons, folders etc are displayed on my PC seems to change, apparently at random.
I'm forever changing back to "medium icons" or changing from "tile" to "list" or resizing the windows themselves.

Why is this? It's not serious, just irritating.

When you set the view in a folder it does not set it globally for all folders.

Thanks, yes, I realise that - it happens to individual folders like control panel, pictures etc.

One day they're the way I like them and the next they're different.

    I just wondered why?

by default vista keep settings reminded for limited folders but by increasing this your problem will be solved as stated in the link provided by andy sir.
