Default Forgot To Back Up Files Before Resetting?

If you have Windows Vista, and forgot to backup your personal files before resetting Vista back to factory settings, all is not lost. Vista is the only version of Windows that automatically backs up your files for you as you are resetting it back to factory settings. Open Windows Explorer > click on Drive:C > look at the bottom of the directory to see a "Windows Old" folder. All of your personal files are in there.

Yes, starting with Vista, Windows introduced the Windows.old folder functionality.

An easy way to Retrieve files from Windows.old folder in Windows 8 with Recover Personal Files Tool.
